Located some 3 kilometers underneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean,, scientists have discovered the hottest water ever found on Earth emanating from two black smokers called Two Boats and Sisters Peak.

Wow!! Won’t this raise concerns about the effects of global warming on one of the most sensitive and productive ecosystems in the world? I read that some creatures live near these hot water vents like tube worms, sea lilies etc. They feed on the organic matter that settles from the upper zones and, on minerals that well up with hot water from vents in the seafloor.
